Team Blending If there's one thing we love here at Zest, it's the opportunity to blend our departments together for some spontaneous fun. So, when the unexpected happened with some of our systems a couple of weeks ago, we jumped at the chance to get all of our Zesties in the same office and the same room! We hosted a quiz, followed by a landmark building competition, which consisted of each group being asked to recreate a famous landmark using just a newspaper, tape, some old recycling boxes, and a handful of straws. Our Central Operations Manager, Mark, declared the 'Statue of Liberty' group as the winners for their cleverly made structure, bagging themselves a free lunch by our in-house chef. As a company who spends the majority of our day working from screens, it was great to step away for just a moment, to put our practical skills and creativity to the test.
January Bingo! It was heads down and dabbers at the ready last Friday at Zest HQ as we hosted a companywide Bingo night! We love utilising our staff's hidden talents, and no-one showed this better than our IT manager, Simon, who put his mixology skills to the test by serving us up his delicious cocktails throughout the evening. We paired our refreshments with a very large delivery from our favourite local fish and chip shop, Chez Fred, and it was so much fun learning everyone's classic chip shop order. Our staff were then playing for 9 incredible bingo prizes including a meal out at Lola's, a Conker Distillery Tour for 2, a bar tab at Ojo Rojo, and many more of our favourite independent hotspots in the BCP area. A fun night was had by all, and it's safe to say that Zest certainly beat those January blues!
Happy New Year! To kick start our New Year here at Zest, we asked each of our staff to consider what goals or resolutions they were setting for 2025. Studies show that you are 42% more likely to achieve and carry out your intentions simply by writing them down, so our staff did just that! They privately wrote down their own personal goals, kept a copy for themselves and another into our NY box in a sealed envelope. We'll hand these back to them at the end of the year, and already can't wait to see how they get on!
Another successful year of supporting the incredible work by The Hamper Appeal 💪 Before we all took some time to reset over the festive period, some of our Zest superstars volunteered their time over at Citygate Church and helped with packing the 200 hampers that The Hamper Appeal send out to local families in need over Christmas. It's no light work, but Tom, Erin, Khalid, & Habib really enjoyed getting stuck in with ensuring all of the donations received were organised and packed perfectly ready for delivering. This is the 8th year of The Christmas Hamper Appeal supporting families in crisis in the Bournemouth area, and we couldn't be prouder to be partnering with them to help make a difference to those living in our community. A big thank you to our staff at Zest for both volunteering their time, and donating essential food items for the hampers too. As a company we collected a large amount of cans, jars, cartons, and packets of food to help with the cause 👏 Great work everyone!

We had lots of spooky fun for Halloween with face painting, fancy dress competition, pumpkin carving, a quiz and treats galore but not so many tricks! Great to have so much engagement from our Zest people and well done to all of our winners 👻😈💀🎃
