Another month, another Q&A. Our 'in the limelight' series has nothing to do with limes, and everything to do with shouting about the career journeys that our wonderful lot have been on. Last time, we talked about our Leah, her prowess on the badminton court, and the start of our Business Intelligence team at innocent. Well, now it's time to switch things up and let Precious take us on his Bilbo Baggins inspired journey to our Dublin office. Operations Management might seem a little easier than sneaking into Mordor, but Precious might have a crack at changing your mind.
We thought it's about time we set the record straight. We do sometimes work. Our Jack's here to prove it.
March is B-Corp month. And we're all about product swapping our stuff with other great B-Corps. This time, we've let the chocolate bunny run loose here at Fruit Towers. With more Easter eggs than we know what to do with, we're searching for some extra pair of hands to help us finish the job. So, if you want to help us deliver a billion more portions of fruit and veg by 2030, and get your hands on some cocoa-based goodies, hop on down to the link below and keep your eyes peeled for more jobs to come. https://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/fancy-a-job
IN THE LIMELIGHT: our Leah We're back once again with our 'in the limelight' series. A monthly Q&A with one of our lot talking about the twists and turns in their careers and, because it's us, probably about their favourite lunch, too. Last month we chatted to our Gareth about tech, sharks and Dr Seuss. This month it's our Leah's turn to talk about women in IT, badminton and why the humble spreadsheet is mightier than the sword. We're all about hiring well-rounded people, us.
IN THE LIMELIGHT: our Gareth If you work at innocent, you tend to make quite a few moves. Dancefloors and dodgy renditions of the macarena aside, moving into different roles around the business keeps our lot learning and growing. Every month, we’ll be putting one of our movers and shakers in the limelight to tell you about their time at innocent, and share a few top tips like how to go from sales to IT. Or how to make the perfect poached egg in the office microwave. So go make yourself a cup of tea and get comfortable. This month we’re chatting to our Gareth who’s been here for just over 10 years. He started off by selling smoothies and he now leads our transformation projects. He also likes to listen to The Prodigy and to read Dr Seuss to his kids. Ideally not at the same time.
THINGS THAT CAN BE A BIT SCARY Haunted houses Clowns Clowns inside haunted houses Starting therapy for the first time We might like bottling up fruit and veg but we’re doing our best to steer clear of bottling up our feelings. Yes, our therapist does have to put up with our bad jokes too. We've teamed up with the nice people at Plumm to give everyone that works here 12 free online therapy sessions per year. It’s been a massive help to a lot of people, and it's done wonders for normalising all things mental health around here. Have a listen to our Laura talking about how we look after ourselves at work a bit more.
We like a good challenge. And we’re not talking about hooking that seventh bag of shopping on our pinky finger to avoid two trips. We’re aiming to get one billion more portions of fruit and veg into you fine people by 2030. That’s a lot of fruit, so over the next few years we’ll need a few extra hands to help us do it. Talented, ambitious hands. Bonus points if those hands have freakishly strong pinky fingers for carrying shopping. Whether you’re great at sales, marketing, finance or IT, keep a beady eye on our jobs page: https://lnkd.in/epbshBtc And have a look at this to get an idea of what it’s like to work here. Fingers* crossed we’ll see you in Fruit Towers soon.
Fruit-covered hats off to our Alex for winning the noble Services to Fruit award. It's dished out to those who've been nailing their jobs and going the extra mile to make sure we're getting fruit into you lot, just short of spoon-feeding you. That would be a bit much.
We work in the FMCG industry. No, that doesn't stand for Fewer Meetings Create Glee. It stands for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods. If you didn’t know that before today, you’re not the only one. We've been working to make innocent more diverse and inclusive. One of the ways we've done that is by trying to attract more black talent, who we know are underrepresented in this industry. We've teamed up with Black Young Professionals (BYP) to shout about the roles we're been hiring for. They're an organisation all about connecting the black community with some of the biggest companies around, and they're helping us let people know FMCG jobs actually exist. And that our talent team are keen to chat. BYP recently asked a few legends from the business what it's like to work here. Have a read through below to hear from our Beatrice, Manny and Obi.
The names Mariah and Michael are banned from Fruit Towers until December 1st. Which is unfortunate for our Michael from finance.
