The average UK job hunter wants to know where they can work that pays a high salary. The good news is that many companies are offering top money for top talent, with base salaries of £70k and upwards, not to mention large bonuses. Glassdoor’s latest report reveals the 10 Highest Paying Companies in the UK for 2017. The UK’s best paying companies are offering staff a total package of between £80,000 and £110,000. London is seen as the Fintech capital of the world, and guess what, this list is dominated by tech and finance firms. While hardly any of these companies are British, they all employ many UK workers and plus they are all hiring now. The 10 Highest Paying Companies in the UK for 2017 are:  1. Salesforce Median Total Compensation: £110,000 Median Base Salary: £75,000 Industry: Tech

So why do finance and tech companies dominate this list? “This report shows that the big guns in tech and finance still dominate when it comes to large salaries in the UK. Companies like Salesforce, Facebook and SAP are all fighting for the best talent and they are prepared to pay top money to get it,” said Dr. Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor’s Chief Economist. “Bankers tend to get pretty hefty bonuses since successful traders can bring huge company returns and tech salaries in particular tend to be high because of a shortage in specialist skills such as Data Science and Software Engineering.” EMPLOYERS: It can be challenging to prepare for conversations around salary, whether or not you can pay top dollar for top talent. With Glassdoor's Guide to Salary Conversations, you’ll never dread the compensation conversation again. (1) Methodology: Glassdoor’s 10 Highest Paying Companies in the UK report identifies companies with the highest median total compensation package (including base salary and other forms of compensation, such as commissions, tips, bonuses, etc.), as reported by UK-based employees on Glassdoor over the past year (02/03/2016 - 01/03/2017). Companies considered for this report must have received at least 30 salary reports in GBP by UK-based employees during the timeframe. While ‘other forms of compensation’ is an optional field on Glassdoor, salary reports considered for this report must have been from employees who shared both their base pay and other forms of compensation. In cases where companies have the same median total compensation, the company with the higher median base compensation receives the higher rank. Subsidiaries of companies were considered for this report if they met the methodology, have their own distinct job listings and profile on Glassdoor.
