What is working from home like at Klarna?

      Klarna reviews

Low pay and unorganised work environment

      Service delivery specialist
      Former employee
      Stockholm, Stockholm
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Hybrid working possible, pleasant atmosphere within the team.

      Cons

Low salary with few additional benefits. No incentive through bonus, work from home benefit was cut after first year, entry level position got split up into different levels to artificially push back promotions. Promotions, role changes within the company are difficult.

Klarna is the definition of over promise and under deliver

      Marketing manager
      Current employee
      New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Lots of autonomy. - Can fully work from home, but also have wework offices in major cities. - Pretty ok work life balance.

      Cons

      - Horrible bonus & promotion structure (once a year and you have to apply for it. Last year only the people that were on the lower end got small bonuses, and not the people that actually deserved it). Haven't gotten a raise or bonus in two years now, even after three promotions. They're always promising but never deliver. - They don't care about your career goals and will move you into other teams and roles that don't align with your goals, skills or wants. - Flat company with a handful of CXOs making all the decisions. Very limited transparency from them. - It's hard to get answers (ex: promotions) due to the strange organizational structure. - Culture used to be good but due to the constant restructuring in the past two years, the culture is quire sad.

      Big corporate company

      Software engineer
      Current employee
      Stockholm, Stockholm
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Corporate perks: free breakfast, flexible working hours, possibility work form home and work abroad. Engineers are smart and cool but everyone eventually want to leave. Good line in your CV. After you leave this company the life is so nice.

      Cons

Understaffed, huge expectation with not enough compensation, they try to make people leave the company, a lot of people are burning out, you need to fight for promotion but compensation is poor.

Toxic culture. Not what it used to be

      Senior partnership manager
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Good WFH culture. Work life balance is fairly good although it varies depending on the domain you belong to. People are smart and willing to learn.

      Cons

      - Lack of long-term strategy and minimal knowledge of payments across the company and management - Every team works in silos creating many overlaps and dysfunctions in the organisation - Top-down decisions with poor communication, often resulting in confusing guidance - Different opinions are not welcomed; a "yes man" attitude is expected to survive - No HR department - Employees are frequently threatened that AI will replace them - Extremely CEO centric with no ability to push back or challenge ideas at any level

      Rather avoid

      Pros

      - Nice team mates, very helpful and kind. - You can mostly work from home - Nice office - You can change team Generally it all depends on luck and which team you get into.

      Cons

      - Terrible magement, the worst I have seen. - Very vague tasks. Then, when you ask many questions, PM says you ask too much, - Tasks you get are totally not aligned with your skills - Wrong place if you think about developing your career
