What are pay rises like at Kroger?

      Clerk

      Pros

You do get a discount on kroger brand food items.

      Cons

The management treats this place like a high school. If you are friends with them you can get away with leaving early and not being reprimanded. But if you aren't friends with them they treat you like dirt. The company doesn't care about you working with a skeleton crew and they will do nothing to help you succeed at your job. Also, the union is pretty much worthless. They act like they are there for you but in reality they are actively working against you it feels like. Oh, and it doesn't matter how long you have worked here. You will not get a pay raise unless you work enough hours. But it's almost impossible to get those hours in your own department because a multi billion dollar company is worried about labor. I would highly recommend applying anywhere else.

      Pros

Great coworkers/managers, easy job, good benefits and decent starting pay

      Cons

High turnover rate, occasional cold communication, poor work/life balance, bad work days and hours, no room for professional growth, outdated technology, no pay increase aside from inflation-countering raises with an endless increase in responsibilities.

      Pros

Semi-yearly pay increase, flexible schedule, good people on the ground and in lower/middle management

      Cons

Overbearing, toxic corporate culture from upper management. days are grueling.

      Overall Nice Place to Work

      Pharmacy technician
      Current employee

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Nice scheduling, nothing too late/too early. Best if pharmacy is full-staffed, if not then it’s stressful. You can go grab things like snacks from the store, if you need. They pay for your pharmacy technician license. On the job training is provided. Once you become a CPhT you can give vaccines in Indiana, and you get a pay raise.

      Cons

Difficult to get time off when you want if you are full time, less difficult if part time, but still a challenge. I can’t speak for all locations, but if you’re part time and request a certain amount of hours per week, they usually accommodate that but sometimes they will start increasing hours. Patients can be very rude. Most pharmacists (at my store) will let you stop servicing people after you have helped everyone who was there in line before close, but sometimes will make you keep working/helping people who have arrived after close if they arrived while people who arrived before close were still being helped. A lot of standing. Sometimes you have to go out and do a promotional table in the produce section which is aggravating for both customers and pharmacy employees (and probably regular store employees).

I think the cap is 23. Management communication needs work.

      Pros

Union based, so you would get a pay increase every six months or so. Great benefits; I paid like $24 each check for my two children. Customers became like family.

      Cons

Overworked; I would work alone in the pharmacy with the Pharmacist from 8AM-9PM Bullying: A tech from a different store came over and since she had senority she started bullying everyone else. They care about pushing numbers more than helping the customer.

      Pros

There was nothing positive about working for this company.

      Cons

You will be overworked, anyone above department head will not treat you with dignity. You will be paid incredibly low to start with a pitiful 5 cent yearly raise.
