Great pay and benefits, some fantastic colleagues and leaders. Of the leaders I had some did invest in my development and growth.
Cons
During my time with the company, I saw a lot of leadership changes and a growing disconnect between office teams and frontline colleagues. The 'We Are Lidl' ethos and High 5 values seem to have been forgotten in the race for productivity and market share. While head office meetings start with social chats, store and warehouse teams are too busy to take a toilet break without risking performance management.
The business promotes inclusion and encourages people to be themselves, but only if they fit the mould. Constructive feedback often goes unheard, and those who challenge the status quo don’t tend to last. Success seems to come to those who hit targets at any cost, using political tactics and treating their teams like pawns. I hope things get better again, I had such high hopes.
