What is health insurance like at Xerox?

Pros

None that I can think of, currently. I work for one of the Global/XBS "Cores". Things were great until middle of 2018. It's been a dumpster fire ever since.

Cons

Want to know what's going on? Check out a website called TheLayoff dot com and look for Xerox. You can read what's happening there. As of right now, they have worsened our health insurance, cut 401K benefits, frozen pay increases, net 60 for payment of vendors, and closed over half of the Global/XBS locations in the US. There's more to come!

Advice to Management

There's nothing they can do anyway. This is corporate America.

Does Xerox offer dental insurance?

Pros

Not a physically demanding job at all, so you're not completely exhausted when you get off of work. You stay busy with service calls at customer accounts, so the days go by fast. Pay is very good for not having to have a college degree. Medical is okay, Dental is great. Paid vacation and holidays are nice as well! I love working for this company and am hoping to retire here.

Cons

Medical coverage isn't that great, but I've seen way worse. It's about average. If you want overtime, it's very hard to get as a Customer Service Engineer (at least where I'm located).

Does Xerox have a pension plan?

Pros

Xerox is a truly global company with an iconic brand. Depending on your role and your own initiative, you'll find there's so much you can learn. In terms of salaries and benefits, whilst the salaries may not appear competitive, the additional company benefits could possibly make up for the difference, in particular, the flexible working arrangements, fantastic pension contributions, SIP, Healthcare etc. You may find other (perhaps smaller) companies struggle to compete with these.

Cons

The company is trying to find a new normal after a number of corporate changes over the last 7 years. Joining the company now could be painful as the next few months and years are seemingly unclear. It may also depend on the organisation you are attempting to work for. You may find better prospects if applying to Xerox straight into more senior roles.

Advice to Management

This advice goes to Senior and Operations Managers in general, not the executive committee. Senior and Operations Managers need to understand there are great people within their teams who present years of experience with sensible and logical business acumen and should look to seek input from those employees when making significant organisational changes. Pay close attention to our new CEO (JV), who is a fantastic example of someone who reaches out and wants to listens to the views of the employees.
