      Senior Process Engineer Interview

      29 May 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Menlo Park, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Adicet Bio (Menlo Park, CA) in Mar 2020

      Interview

I had read the negative reviews here already but I had hoped that they would have probably changed something in their process. Even if the company is trying to do good science everything else seems to be a mess, especially with HR and recruiting. Initial recruiter (internal recruiter for the company) had a 30 min initial interview with basic questions and then asked me about my desired salary range and verified that the salary range was within company's salary offer. Had another interview with hiring manager which went great. Had 6-hour online interview (due to COVID19) with a full panel of people from company that also went great. Had to wait about two months to visit the company due to COVID19. Visit was great and all the scientific personnel was also great to meet and talk. The company initially would not even extend a verbal offer or even discuss about one unless they had checked my references. When we got to the point where the company extended an offer, the offer was significantly lower than the initial range the recruiter had confirmed with me numerous times. The company admitted that their recruiter was not authorized to give numbers, the recruiter also admitted that they had misinformed me and they knew since the first call that my proposed range was never the company's intention for the position. I replied to their offer with my offer (at the bottom of my desired range) and a logical relocation package (to move across the country) and they arranged a call to actually retract their initial offer citing that I am probably not a good fit for the company since I complained about being misinformed. It is a really unprofessional and unethical way to treat a potential employee. Whether they have to re-evaluate their hiring strategy is out of the question. The question is whether they will actually do it. Until then just stay away...
