Everything went smoothly
You might think you get the role.
But you cannot get any real answer when asked if from the discussion they have any questions or doubts they may have about you on fitting the role. - they just repeatedly mention they have yet to see other candidates to make a comment. The questions is about the candidate him/herself, not asking if the hiring manager is going to offer a job or not.
From there, you get the vibe that you are not selected, they just trying to keep it neutral.
At the end of the interview, the hiring commented on my attire being over dressed. - Being respectful and thus dressed up more formally doesn't seem much to them. The sarcasm in that one statement "these days even our ED/MD don't dressed so formally".
Not burning bridges means I maintained that I'm still interested in the role. But in reality, who wants to work for these kind of boss, where it is just a contract role with no conversion guaranteed.
