I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Nov 2015
Interview
I started my interview process back in May. I applied and received a invite for a video interview via Hirevue. The questions were exactly what they posted on glassdoor so it was something that I was prepared for. At this time I was living in ohio and did not hear anything from AA for months. I moved to Atlanta Ga in July and finally got the call for the face to face interview in October. My interview was on Nov 12th. I was flown out to Dallas and taken to a conference room full of about 28 hopefuls. The host and all of the Recruiters were sooo friendly and welcoming. We were given name tags and given an assignment. We were to place scenarios in order of importance 1-5. Once we turned that in we started a group project. I was the spokesperson for my group. After the group activity were were split into different groups and taken into another room for group interviews. We were asked three questions. The first two were in order and the last one was whoever had the confidence to go first could just get up and answer a question. After the group interviews we were able to grab some refreshments and went back into the conference room where our host talked to us about being a flight attendant with AA. He went into detail about pay and schedules. After he opened the floor for questions and the recruiters came in one by one calling names to either walk you back to the shuttle for the airport or back to get fingerprinted. I was the second name called and as I nervously talked with the recruiter trying to remember if he was leading me to the door that we came in he lead me to another room where I was fingerprinted, given a reach test and also interviewed one on one with a member of the HR department. After I finished the process they told us that we would get an email within two weeks letting us know if we were offered the position. Being someone who has read the reviews on Glassdoor I was pretty confident with where I was at in the process. The icing on the cake was the fact that they actually upgraded me from economy to business class on my flight home. It was about 5 GA girls that were on the flight to the interview and only three of us made it to fingerprinting and out of the three they upgraded two of us. We were so excited. Just my luck I would be one of those rare cases that had such a great experience only to receive a rejection letter stating After careful consideration you were not selected". I was completely shocked and even my friends who are AA flight attendants said they never heard of this. Who would waste their time fingerprinting you only to reject you? Well all in all it was a great experience and I am very grateful to have made it through interview stage of the process.
