The interview process was initially very positive. I met all qualifications and received excellent feedback from both HR and the hiring manager. In the last interview I had, the hiring manager explicitly stated she wanted to move forward and confirmed she had zero hesitations about my fit for the role.
However, just days later, I received a generic automated rejection citing a need for "better-qualified" candidates. This massive disconnect between the interview feedback and the HR outcome, combined with the companyâs recent leadership churn and aggressive financial targets, suggests significant internal instability or a sudden loss of role funding. While the team was professional during the talks, the lack of transparency regarding their hiring capacity is a major red flag. Iâd advise future candidates to be wary of role stability here, especially given the company's history of layoffs.
