      Digital Marketing Executive Interview

      20 Sept 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Avantia Insurance

      Interview

I interviewed for this role earlier in 2024 and completed the first interview, which included a live task. Initially, I was pleased with the communication, as the emails were detailed and appeared transparent. However, the salary offered for the role was noticeably low, especially for a position based in central London. After raising this, I was asked about my current salary and expectations. While this is a common question, it felt somewhat invasive. During the interview, the atmosphere felt cold, and the questions seemed designed more to catch me out than to assess my suitability for the role. It felt unproductive for both the candidate and the hiring team. Halfway through, I sensed the interviewer had already made up their mind about me, to the point where I had to remind them about an additional task we were supposed to complete. Despite this, I completed all tasks accurately. I received no update or communication following the interview, until I received an email a month later saying I had not been successful. Overall, the experience gave me the impression that the work environment might be micromanaged, which contrasted sharply with the initial kindness and flexibility conveyed in their emails.

      18 Aug 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Kingston upon Thames, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Avantia Insurance (Kingston upon Thames, England) in Jul 2017

      Interview

Very quick - I applied on the company website, was contacted for interview in 24 hours (interview included 1-hour task test), second interview was the next day, and I was offered the job 2-3 days later. Impressively (because it so rarely happens), they actually emailed me "by close of play tomorrow" which was the deadline they' told me at interview they'd use for letting me know if I was successful, to say that they hadn't yet been able to have a meeting to decide, which was a nice touch.
