A recruiter reached out to me via email, asked when I was available to speak with him. I gave him a four hour window of when I would be available the next day. He said “I’ll call you then”. Which was odd to me because all professional recruiters I’ve spoken with in the past locked down a specific time that they will call you. Not expect you to be waiting for their call in a 4 hour range. This threw up a red flag to me of possible unprofessionalism, and disrespect for job candidates’ time. Well my inkling was right, because he did not call at all the next day.
He then emailed AGAIN a few days later, did not apologize or acknowledge the fact that he did not call when he said he would previously, instead he asked when I was available. Again. Once again, I told him my availability for the the next day. He said he would call. AGAIN, DID NOT CALL. I emailed back, to confirm he had my correct phone number, considering I had not heard from him twice now, when he said he would contact me for a screening. This recruiter did not even bother to answer my email. Very unprofessional and disrespectful, as my initial intuition told me he would be. Also, it was odd his emails had no first and last name signature template along with his title and contact information as most businesses do. They were only signed with his first name.
Also, I tried to call beacon associates headquarters to follow up and possibly speak with a different recruiter about the position I applied for, but it’s impossible to get a live person or receptionist which is a little shady. Only a voicemail and dial by extension. This recruiter represented this company very poorly, and now I am suspicious about their practices if this is how they treat potential employees who are not even signed on with them yet.
