Simple, almost like a conversation so it should be pretty easy if you just talk normally. The manger made it pretty relaxed, described the job and the tasks the we would do etc.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Big Lots (Phoenix, AZ) in Oct 2013
Interview
Applied on Indeed.com and heard back from the Store Manager within one week and had an interview set up with him in the next couple days. Had the interview, he was very professional, took the time to explain his expectations and the job in detail. He then set up an interview with in DM and had the interview. It was very similar to the one with in Store Manager. The DM then called me a few days later and offered me the job. Background check took about 5 - 7 days and started right away.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Big Lots (South Plainfield, NJ) in Jun 2013
Interview
Phone interview, followed by in store interview with Store and District manager. Simply leadership questions about managing talent, delegation, and being resourceful. They are looking for strong leaders because the company does bare minimums to train you. Very mom and pop shop. They don't explain that this job requires a lot of 2 am closings, cleaning toilets, and if someone calls out be ready to work another 10 to 16 hour shift back to back
