I applied online. I interviewed at Blue River Technology (Santa Clara, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Applied and was instantly rejected even though I have the same experience they wanted. Would've been nice to have someone reach out. Not a very lucrative process especially when someone is local with the exact experience they wanted.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Very vague process. I am local and didn't ask many questions but was immediately denied.

Interview
First, you’ll have a quick call with a recruiter to talk about your background and the role. Then comes a technical round with the hiring manager to dive deeper into your experience. After that, there’s a coding round to test your skills. If things go well, you’ll move on to a virtual onsite, which includes four interviews: one behavioral, two technical, and one more coding session to see how you approach problems and work with others.
In my experience, the team was fantastic, Super professional, friendly, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Every conversation with them felt respectful, and they really took the time to understand how I think and work. Unfortunately, the recruiter side was the complete opposite. I had to follow up more than once just to get basic responses, and when I asked what to expect in the interviews, I got vague, AI-generated emails that didn’t help at all. The sample questions shared were misleading, and the recruiter gave incorrect information about the interview format, even telling me there would be no coding in the virtual onsite, when there definitely was. The team experience was excellent, but the recruiter experience was equally frustrating.

Interview
Applied online and was emailed by a recruiter to set up a time for the initial interview. The recruiter emailed me 2 minutes before the scheduled interview time to cancel the meeting. Never heard back from the recruiter.
