I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (Westport, CT)
Interview
I had a very interesting experience applying to this company. This company records all of your interviews and conversations during the phone and onsite interviews. The phone interview was non-technical and is just for them to ask questions about your resume and gage your interest in the company. Before the onsite interview, you have to complete one of two 3-hour coding challenges (you can choose to do both) and multiple personality tests (i.e. An extensive Myers-briggs, Workplace Personality Inventor, and a team dimensions profile). The technical interview was straightforward and a lot of fun but the other portion of the interview was just to see the candidate's critical thinking in general.
I received a list of many topics to discuss which had no relevance to technology. The topic we discussed was whether or not the US should have a death penalty. I didn't really get the point of the discussion and it came across during the interview - I couldn't direct the conversation to where they were trying to bring it.
They told me that I was a bright candidate but just needed more experience and to apply next year.
This company has a very unique culture so absolutely research it before interviewing with them. It'll probably be good to skim through Ray Dalio's Principles which are available on their website. They company believes in strong transparency and from what I observed, the employees need thick skin to be successful there.

I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (New York, NY)
Interview
It was a campus debate on a random topic. It's not really enjoyable much. If you have experience in debate, you'd be advantaged here, but I really don't get how this helps them find the right people.
everything sent in the email; just a group interview and we get to discuss some questions with each other. Had two people working there monitor us and guide (only if necessary). Question was mostly philosophical.
I applied online. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates in Dec 2023
