The recruiter Clair was lovely to deal with, informative and efficient, as well as friendly.
From the moment I walked into the office for the face to face interview I felt it probably wasn't the best fit for me. It felt quite chaotic, loud music blasting on the speakers, I suppose to keep the energy up.
The receptionist was friendly and kind. The sales manager was friendly and down to earth. He didn't bother with the usual formalities, not sure if that is a good thing or not. I didn't get asked many questions, I felt it was more me listening to him talk about the business and the Fruidel product and job role with me contributing where I could. He briefly mentioned the CEO likes to talk about his Lamborghini. Immediately I found that off-putting- I don't think there is anything more tone deaf than a CEO talking about his Lambo in a cost of living crisis. Maybe it is something to do with trying to make the young inexperienced lads look up to him?
The CEO randomly walked in towards the end of the interview. I found his approach quite bizarre. Barely acknowledged me at first. Again lots of talking at me. He asked me what I think about hybrid work and explained why fully in the office is better from a business point of view.
Quite a strange experience honestly. I think this place is best for young inexperienced lads. I appreciate the sales managers attempt to diversify but I think it's going to be a hard task as not many women are going to want to play a mother role at work!
