Bulb Software Engineer interview questions

Best interview process I've experienced. Transparent process, clear expectations, and exemplary feedback cycles. Would have trusted the evaluation process regardless of final result. Time with the CTO at the final stage was a nice touch. 4 stages. Each led by real Bulb engineers, not automated systems: 1) Code challenge. Conducted using the Geektastic platform. Write code and tests relating to a Bulb energy challenge. Language and framework of your choice. 2) System Design interview. Design a system architecture for a theoretical new Bulb energy feature. No code. Technical, organisational, and business context. 3) Competency interview. How you've built and delivered products in the past. Operations and personal impact. 4) CTO interview. Opportunity for both parties to assess alignment of values and cultural principles.

Phone screening followed by an at home technical test taking around 2 hours. Followed by two onsite interviews; one technical, one less formal. Very much team member lead, a two way conversation, meeting a variety of developers at different levels.
