      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Burns & McDonnell (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

As i was graduating December, was looking for a full time to start during spring time of the following year. Overall process took a little over 6-7 weeks. So it started by applying online during July. Got reached out by a recruiter who set me up with a video interview to record myself and answer a couple behavioral questions. Then got on site with the Chicago office. Made a presentation on myself which they put a lot of focus on. Had 2 back to back interviews one with the Transmission group and other with the Energy group. Very laid back and relaxed. I was being myself and was able to communicate well. Great people to talk with and I always felt it would be a good place to work. A couple days later HR called me saying i would be a good fit for the Energy group (which i felt so too) but they would like to have an additional video interview with their Kansas group. Had that scheduled. Went pretty well, had a great chat and really loved talking with the recruiter. The HR reached out saying the recruiter is out on field and wont be back before 2 weeks. Seemed weird, but alright, i went with it. It had been over 2 weeks did not receive a call. I lost patience and emailed the HR . No response again. I emailed her again a couple days later. After sending out cold emails, i had lost hope. I did get a call on a Friday at like 4pm. The HR just said we would not be going further with this employment. I was surely shocked. I had so many questions but the moment just got to me. Once i came back to my senses, i called her back but of course no response. After a heavy weekend, i ended up emailing the recruiter that i connected very well with. The reason i got from the recruiter was something from the "book of rejections" saying the hiring process has slowed down. The next day i see up a post looking to hire talent on LinkedIn. I was overall devastated about how the HR tried ghosting me. Waiting for a response is the hardest period for a candidate and i feel a company should know that.
