I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at By the Pixel in Apr 2025
Interview
1. Video chat with hiring manager
2. Take home coding challenge where you took a list of users and hit an API to get their weather data. Very few details about expectations for both time and complication. I spent 3.5 hours on the coding and PR, and then 20 minutes reviewing their developers comments.
Got a review by a developer with less than 4 years of experience with some mildly condescending questions for a senior developer. I tried to be straightforward with my answers, but I was not going to spent 6+ hours of time on a coding challenge, which may have been his expectation. Got denied. All communication via Indeed.com. Felt like a waste of my time. Would not recommend.

Interview
They replied by sending me immediately a coding project, unpaid and without any estimation. I spent around 5-6 hours in this project, and notified them about the completion. I got no feedback whatsoever.
It's unacceptable to expect people to spend time on unpaid work, and not give any feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No interview was conducted, I was given a coding project and completed that.
First step was to recreate a login page in html css and a schema for an application in rails. Then it was the first interview over the phone. Second interview was a technical Q & A.
