I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at CIBO (Boston, MA) in Oct 2017
Interview
Over the phone 30 minute interview. Person quickly introduced himself and went directly into a very detailed technical line of questions - over the phone. Very odd given I knew nothing about the position from their perspective, knew very little about their business as its not publicly known and know nothing about the culture - outside of reading the advertised position. Had no idea what the culture is or what types of backgrounds they needed.
Terrible experience - worst interview I have ever had in my 20 year career - there was no discussion about who I was as a person, who they are as a company and they type of folks they are looking for. It was directly into a coding question - anyone can find answers to coding questions using google online - the key is to know who you are talking to, what they bring to the table and their experiences. Very very poor showing - I should have said goodbye after the first question - shows lack of maturity in the organization and the personnel - stay away. People make the company successful - not what they know about specific coding details.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What are your favorite languages (note - he asked FAVORITE) not most skilled. Then dove directly into a very detailed interview question that required how to set a value - and what the exact code would look like. keep in mind over, the phone while I was in my car in the parking lot - without knowing what they were looking for specifically. Very strange situation.
All questions were code specific except for the traditional last one - do you have any questions for me. He was very abrupt with the last one saying he didn't have much time to answer. When someone says that, they are done with you - so I took a hint and said I know all I need to know.
