I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Citi

      Interview

I dont know where to begin because I applied to several jobs with the same title, and my experiences are concerning. The recruiter acknowledges that they posted fake jobs and they hire overseas talent for jobs that operate in the US. I was applying to jobs and found a few roles that aligned with my skills. Oddly enough, I found 3 job postings with the same title and information. I applied to all 3. About a week later, I had a recruiter ask me to apply to one of the roles but with a different link, very odd but it was to better track my application. About a week later, I had my recruiter call; oddly enough, the recruiter was not in the US. She thought that I aligned with the job posting and scheduled me for a panel interview. About a week later, I had my panel interview. I was on a meeting with 3 people who would have been my manager. However, I found it odd because I had more tech experience, more certifications, and degrees compared to them. We all did introductions. Each person only asked 1-2 questions, all of which were extremely vague and did not help with quantifying my experience. While I was able to confidently speak about my background, these people couldnt ask the most simple of questions. It's pretty odd that I am being asked if I led teams doing the work or if I did the work when I clearly mentioned that I did both in my previous employers, then being asked which one I would prefer. It sounded like they wanted someone who only wanted to work, not lead, but be an expert. After a week, I contacted the recruiter for an update. I heard nothing. I send follow-up emails weekly with no response. After some time, I started getting the rejection emails. I finally had a response to my emails after CCing more people. I received a vague response that they just went with better-suited candidates that they accepted. After performing OSINT and talking with internal employees, I found out that they did not actually hire anyone for the job. 3 job postings were still up for a long time though. I contacted the recruiter sometime after, and she verified that they posted these fake jobs in order to gather information to build a list of candidates from which they can hire in the future. I will not be applying to this company moving forward. I will not be associated to a company that lies and posts fake jobs while outsourcing their talent overseas.

      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Citi (Irving, TX) in Oct 2022

      Interview

I was recruited by an external recruiting company for the role - they were looking for an Analyst or AVP for the role. All interviews were via Zoom, two rounds with three people each. The first was more of an experience reference and department fit, and the next was more protocol and laid back.
