I applied in-person. I interviewed at City Year (Columbus, OH) in Mar 2015
Interview
Submitted an online application and about 2 weeks later, asked for an in person interview. Interviewed by current Impact Manager. It was almost informal since I've worked with the interviewer for almost a year. She had recommended that I apply. It was a one on one interview and determination was given in late April/mid-May. Questions included scenarios on how to handle a difficult team member and how to handle multiple projects (organization).

Question 1
How would you handle a project that is due in 2 days with little preparation?
What is your leadership style?
Straight forward interview process, knew quickly about the decision. More of a conversation than anything but would suggest reading up on the values of the org first and coming up with questions before the interview as money and responsibilities can be tough during a TL year.

Question 1
What would you tell a corps member who didn't want to wear their uniform?
It was a virtual interview on Microsoft Teams. There was one person asking the questions and another recording the answers. The questions seemed like they were reading off a script and they gave almost no response to my answers. It was fine, but I personally prefer a more conversational interview process. Was about 45 mins to an hour long.

Question 1
How would you have led a project differently if you had the chance?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at City Year (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2021
Interview
Similar to Corps member interview. Asks questions about your previous year and why you want to be a TL. My interview was virtual, with an Impact Director that I am familiar with. Generally easy interview but make sure you have a few examples from your corps year that you want to show off.

Question 1
Give an example of a time you made a mistake during your corps year. How did you resolve the issue?
