I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CloudCar
Interview
Had two phone interviews before seeing anyone in person. The job interview was mostly about what I did so far. Not much was told what CloudCar did or plans to do. The tech stack described was not what was used. The people are mostly nice and open minded.
I applied online. I interviewed at CloudCar in Feb 2017
Interview
Four people interviewed me. One person asked irrelevant questions which I felt was unnecessary.
Four Rounds and Mostly Spark and Java. Basic Programming Questions, Background. Phone screen could have been more elaborate instead of telling me about yourself and could you come in for the final round. In the end, they said they were looking for a senior Java Developer.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CloudCar (Mountain View, CA) in Sept 2014
Interview
I got the interview call through recruiting company and they setup the interview for me with hiring manager. Hiring manager was good, he asked some basic questions about my background and my previous work history.
Next day they setup the onsite interview for next week. I talked to 4 people in onsite including VP/Manager of project, 2 developers and one automation engineer. VP was very open to talk about and explain, what they are trying to achieve and their future perspective, That interview mostly about my background and my work which involve hardware and software.
Then I had interview with automation engineer, he asked me explain the framework which I build recently and to explain that. 3rd interviewer explain me the project and then asked me how would I go to test the system and ask specific question about the each project component testing.
Last interview with developer again and he again asked me the same background questions and some general technology questions which was more kind of conversation.
Overall cloudcar is interesting company to work for. Only thing which I didn't like that people hasn't asked much technical questions, which make me wonder if their hiring process is not that refined, which is one of the reason, I decline the offer.
