I initally applied for the position at the beginning of December and was contacted by the recruiter about 3 weeks later via email to schedule a call. Had a 30 minute interview on the phone with the recruiter for the position, it went well and a Zoom interview was scheduled a few weeks later with the hiring manager.
The interview with the hiring manager didnt really involve any technical questions, he said that would be saved for another panel interview with the team. The hiring manager asked about past experience, what my goals were and why I was looking to leave my current job.
I had done my research prior to to interview and noticed the position had been open since October; I asked why it was taking so long to fill and the manager told me he had interviewed close to 50 candidates but hadnt found the right one yet (offers had been made to a few but they were not vaccinated and this was a requirement of employment).
The recruiter wanted to schedule another round of interviews but I declined; the company sounded cool but if you've interviewed 50 candidates in 3 months and still haven't hired anyone, I just didnt feel very comfortable about that.
