I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Credit Karma (Charlotte, NC) in Feb 2025
Interview
Recruiter screen; SQL Coderpad; Take home case presentation and 4 behavioral interviews
The recruiter was a nice person with quick response but the process itself was a painful one.
Take home case:
Assumptions about all the data given. Any recommendation you make, will be presented with real life challenges. These are challenges you would definitely not know if you don't work at Credit karma already. I don't know what they try to gain with such challenges. Questioning how data sources work, especially when the problem statement asks to mention any additional helpful data for future analysis. I read a few anecdotes about bro culture but it's more of "I hold the power right now and I will make sure that you know at every single step"

SQL Medium LC 6-8 questions in 1 hour, each ques getting progressively harder
Typical Tell me about a time questions during multiple behavioral with different stakeholders
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Credit Karma in Feb 2025
Interview
Spent 2 months going through 7 rounds of interviews, with each round receiving great feedback, only to be rejected without any reason or explanation.
It feels like they already had someone in mind for the position and just wasted my time throughout the process. Very disappointing experience.
If you are applying for any job here, make sure you are not wasting your OPT dates with them.
