I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Datadog (Boston, MA) in Dec 2022
Interview
Fairly straightforward process, initial screen with recruiter, followed by call with hiring manager, deal review with hiring manager, a call with the director and last step would be a sales challenge. I made it through the first 4 steps and then received a generic email saying they weren't moving forward. The process seemed disorganized at times. For instance, they needed to rescheduled the second call and asked for some additional times I was free, but never confirmed the new time so call came out of the blue. They'll want to know that you can describe what they do.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Datadog (Dubai) in Oct 2025
Interview
Recruiter reached out, had first stage call with Talent Acquisition, very professional and clear about the interview stages. Had a call scheduled next day with hiring manager; well versed and evaluated fitness for the role and culture. Recommended other roles that I might be suitable for other than this one.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Datadog
Interview
The interview process took a significant amount of time (6 weeks) for only two interviews. This can be a red flag for inefficiency within the hiring team.
My second-round interview was with a manager who seemed relatively new to their leadership role. This was evident in the lack of a natural conversation flow and a scripted approach to the interview.
The interview heavily emphasized KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) with minimal discussion about my extensive sales experience (10+ years). This suggests a company culture that prioritizes numbers over the value an experienced candidate can bring.
