The initial interview was with a recruiter, and the following interview was with the manager this position reported to. This manager was awful at conducting interviews. She started off by laying out a plan of steps that she was going to conduct the interview in. It was as if she was reading from a script on how to conduct an interview. She spent the first half of the interview talking about herself and only a small part about the company and position. I had a background that matched up very well with this position. When I asked detailed questions about the position and market she became very flustered, and she demonstrated a poor knowledge of her market and industry.
