Graduate Analyst - Strategy and Operations Interview

      15 Jan 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Deloitte (London, England) in Jan 2013

      Interview

Application form - basic information SHL tests Service Line Questionnaire First Interview -The session was split into three tasks. 1. A group assessment in a group of four. Each given a CIty to represent competing to host a global athletics competition. You had to decide amongst the group the best city to host the games, yet also push your own city. 2. Case Study. THis was not as I had read about in regards to case studies. It was fully structured by the interviewer. You were given 10 minutes to read the case study and then given some basic revenue forecasts. There were three basic questions regarding the case study and relatively easy and simplistic. You do not have to use a framework. 3. Competency based interview. You must demonstrate the basic competencies required from the role. The questions are not designed to throw you, but just allow you a chance to draw on experiences and demonstrate the skills required. The interviewer was very friendly and put me at ease. Partner Interview: A 5 minute presentation. It was a very broad topic and depending on your own research you will draw different conclusions and direction than other candidates. I had 5 days to prepare. 10 minutes of questioning on the presentation. THe questions are difficult and designed to test you. Questions are very much aimed at Deloitte's influence/ actions towards the presentation topic. 45 minutes of general discussion and competency questions e.g. teamwork/ leadership. Why Deloitte? Why Consulting? Why the Strategy and Operations. The partner was friendly and relaxed and really reflected the personality 'type' Deloitte promote and talk about in reference to the employees they are looking for. Plenty of time to ask questions and enter into a discussion. Very informative.
