Theoretical process:
1. HR call ~ 1h
2. Technical assignment
3. Engineering team call
4. Final call/offer
1. First call is with the CTO and a HR representative talking about your experience, the resume alongside company details and its tech stack. Lasts about 1h.
2. Technical assignment - Django REST - input a url and make a scraper that uses 2 celery queues - 1 for download / 1 for parsing - the output should be all the links found on the page of the input url.
I made the assignment in like 1-2 days as a POC and got a feedback where they asked me to further implement some super basic improvements. The premise was that in order to rank my code as a senior level I should do these.
*One of the feedback notes was a gramatical mistake for a method documentation đ
I suggested to have the call with the engineering team(3.) as that call shouldâve been for talking the implementation.
The denied and I made the improvements and even added more features for logging, fail mechanism etc. 3 days later I was told they ranked the code as middle even though I made the improvements for âseniorâ level.

I asked for feedback and got ghosted.
Total waste of time!
I had tech assignments for companies ranging from startups to big ones like Deloitte, Siemens and so on but never ever they wanted a milimetric code but rather to see that the person proves he knows what he is pretending to know in the resume.
By the way I donât know about the salaries posted here, but for a senior contractor the upper limit is 30âŹ/h non-negotiable, low.
