I applied through other source. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at EPE Innovations (Dallas, TX) in Dec 2015
Interview
I get calls from recruiters all of the time trying to get me to come to their company, but when EPE reached out to me it wasn't from a recruiter but an email from one of their Directors simply stating that he had reviewed my profile on LinkedIn and thought there was a perfect role for me based upon my background. He specifically told me things he liked about my experience and stated if I was interested to give him a call directly. I think his name was Brian. This was something so simple but different that didn't come off as a desperate company looking for people.
I emailed him back and we set up a phone call to discuss the opportunities. The way he, the recruiter, and Ken talked about EPE and the vison for the company made me want to be a part of it.
I had my interview with the recruiter Tom after my talk with Brian, then they brought me in for a face to face where I met another Sr. Developer and a manager. They asked me some questions about my bi experience and then met with Brian again and then the owner. Each interview went well and I felt the interview questions were tough at times but it's because they deal with some complex data models.
I left feeling really good and 2 days later got an offer from them and then 3 weeks later I started.
Best experience overall, treated like a professional, they were very honest about what they were looking for and felt like I could do the type of work that would challenge me.
Great decision so far and the team is so talented with no egos or politics.
