I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ESC Spectrum (Tampa, FL) in Oct 2022
Interview
Process took about 10 hours over multiple weeks. They ghosted me afterwards. Finally got rejected after a week of waiting. Here is my complete experience: 1st interview - 30 min phone call with hiring manager. Assessments - 2 hours to complete, must do it in one sitting. 2nd interview - 1.5 hour video call with hiring manager. He will go over every little mistake you made on the assessments. He really tries to belittle you here. He criticized me for being 28 and not having a family, "because that shows that I won't take my skills or career serious enough" but will ultimately tell you that you have a lot of potential. In hindsight, I think this is intentional so they can lower your self-esteem and maybe get you for cheaper. 3rd interview - 1 hour video technical questions with a team lead. This guy was much nicer than the hiring manager. I enjoyed our conversation. 4th interview - 2 hour video technical interview with hiring manager. I came up with a simpler and faster solution than he was expecting but was told I was wrong. He was not willing to go into detail. I don't know if he was posturing himself or if it was an ego thing, but definitely strange. 5th interview - 3 hour video interview with CEO, HR and hiring manager. The CEO and HR are very nice people. They truly made me feel like I was the perfect candidate! It felt like a "good cop - bad cop" interrogation where the hiring manager would critique me and question my intentions while the others were overly nice. Conclusion: I honestly didn't mind the thorough interview process. I just wish they had the decency to tell me I didn't get the job instead of making me wait so long. Ultimately, I'm happy that I didn't get the job. The hiring manager seems to lack empathy and social skills. There are much better opportunities out there that won't require more than one or two interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They will REQUIRE that you disclose your previous salaries in the last 10 years(this is ILLEGAL in many states) They will not move you on until you give them this information. They will also ask about your desired salary in each of the interviews and try to lower your expectations. Also, they ask if you are interviewing with other companies and where you are in those interview processes.
