      QA Analyst Interview

      24 Apr 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Montreal, QC
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at EXFO (Montreal, QC) in Apr 2026

      Interview

interviewed for a QA Analyst position at EXFO. The overall interview process was well-structured but had some delays in communication. The process started with a third-party HR recruiter who reached out initially. The first round was with the QA Manager, which was relatively straightforward and focused on my resume and basic QA concepts such as system testing vs regression testing, Jira usage, and overall testing approach. The manager was friendly and explained the company and role clearly. I was then invited for an onsite panel interview the next day, which included a Product Owner, Architect, Senior QA, and a Software Developer. This round was more technical and in-depth. They asked about testing strategies, bug identification, CI/CD, API testing, and automation practices. Most questions were aligned with my resume and experience. The panel was supportive and professional, but the technical depth was slightly higher than expected for a primarily manual testing role. There was also a coding-related question, which felt less relevant to the role. While I was able to answer most questions, the interview pressure affected my performance in some areas. However, the discussion overall was constructive. The main downside was the delay in communication after the final round. It took a while to receive an update, which could be improved for a better candidate experience.
