      Marketing Interview

      9 Jun 2010
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Equifax (Atlanta, GA) in May 2010

      Interview

Company was quick to get back to my application, but process dragged on when it came to follow up interviews. First two HR interviews seemed positive (both were superficial, however). Third interview came, good conversation - with promise for several open positions and an offer to meet a line manager during a recent business trip. Then... silence. Reason given: Travel schedules. Gave the impression that the company's staff was overstretched (or worse, given complete license when on the road to no work quite so hard). From a road warrior perspective - schedule conflicts are OK excuses for minimal delays. "Travel," however, is not. Gotta be accessible and able to make informed decisions while traveling.

      Marketing Interview

      11 Oct 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Saint Louis, MO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Equifax (Saint Louis, MO) in Oct 2021

      Interview

The interview process took about a month and lasted 5 rounds. The first round was with an internal recruiter. I was then sent to a hiring manager for a different position that did not even work in the same department as the position I originally applied for. The hiring manager called me and explained this new position in detail and even though I did not meet all the qualifications it seemed like it could be a good fit once I got started on the job. I then had a video interview with the hiring manager. Everything went well and she told me I was a strong candidate. Later that evening I get an email asking me to create a marketing strategy for a hypothetical product. I spent around 12-15 hours on this presentation and did everything that was asked. I then had another video interview with the hiring manager to present my strategy. She said it was exactly what she was looking for, but suggested I add more market data before presenting it to her boss. It was disheartening to learn there was yet another step. Nevertheless, I added the additional data and got ready to present again. To my surprise, not only was the hiring manager’s boss on the call but so was the team I would be working with, which they all looked like they would rather be anywhere else. The second round of my presentation appeared to go well, but I was surprised again when I was asked next to no questions about it. Instead, I was asked about my organizational experience. I explained how I stay organized in my current role, but my approach was unacceptable to them. I expressed my willingness to learn their system and software, but the interview went south quickly. This was an issue that should have been brought up in the first couple of meetings if it was a make or break, not in the final interview. They completely ghosted me after this and that is fine because an offer would have been rejected anyway. I received a generic email about a week later saying they moved on to other candidates. I suspect I was on the last step, but I am not sure. There may have been more rounds. This was a very unprofessional experience and, unfortunately, a complete waste of time.
