      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Esri (Redlands, CA) in Jan 2009

      Interview

I interviewed many people on a one-to-one basis. All generic interview questions were asked. Very friendly people (back then) overall. Made me feel comfortable. The overall process is quite slow. Took 3 months for me. Could be frustarting.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Esri (Redlands, CA) in Oct 2018

      Interview

I first applied to ESRI in late October 2018. I heard back from HR rather quickly and was set up with a quick phone screen interview. After that went well I was moved along to the next step in the process, a phone interview with one of the event/marketing team members, this lasted maybe 30-45 minutes. After the second interview I didn’t hear back until after Thanksgiving and was told the department was reorganizing and hiring was being put on hold. Since I was still looking for work, I decided to follow up late December. The original HR manager I was working with had retired, so that delayed getting a response. Finally, I heard back at the end of January and was set up with another phone interview beginning of February. After that went well, I finally felt like I had made it to the final step when they asked me to come in for an all-day interview with various members of the team. This was a full day of multiple interviews. ESRI covered my gas expenses and lunch, which was nice. At the end of my interview I was told that I had positive feedback from the team and was going to meet with one of the co-founders within the next week. I felt so great and was almost certain that after 5 months of multiple rounds of interviews that I was finally going to receive an offer. To my disappointment I was never called for that final interview and instead received a very generic rejection email from the HR department, providing me with zero clarity as to what went wrong. I was so frustrated that the entire process took so long to only lead to a cold rejection. I wrote back requesting constructive feedback from HR about how I could improve as a candidate for future roles, but never got a response. Not a great first impression from ESRI.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

A lot of situational problem solving questions, asked to refer back to a time when something went wrong or a client was upset etc. and how I resolved the situation. What kind of podcasts do you listen to?
