I got my internship through my Universities career fair about 3 hours away from the headquarters but I had stellar grades and somewhat relevant experience and I did not get the internship the first time. I stayed in contact with the recruiter and interviewed > 6 months later and got the internship. For me it was just one round ~1 hour long and was a mix of behavior questions, resume/experience questions, and general questions ( "strengths and weaknesses") and no explicit technical questions
Most of the questions were focused on hypothetical scenarios, also did go through resume. The interviewers are generally quite nice and will be relevant to the team that you are attached to.
I applied through university. I interviewed at ExxonMobil in Oct 2025
Interview
The interview is quite chill. He mostly asked me to explain my cv and 1 technical questions. The interviewer is quite friendly too. Be sure to know everything you wrote at your cv
questions and answer type, question were really difficult to tailor our experience to it and all are behavioral questions. Does not ask about why you choose the company / the position at all.
