      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at Fast Enterprises (Denver, CO) in Feb 2013

      Interview

Initially: Met them in a booth at a career fair, knew nothing about them, chatted for a bit, went to an information session, asked a bunch of questions, and got to know the recruiters a bit. Next: had an interview the next day with a short logic test and a simple pseudo-code programming question Next: Got invited to an onsite interview in Denver, CO, had a one-on-one interview with three more slightly more difficult logic questions, questions about transcript, stuff on my resume, experience, team experience, failures and triumphs I've had working on a team, what books I like to read, what sports I play, asked to tell a joke. That sort of stuff. With the logic problems, they will help you out a bit, but they are really looking at your approach to solving the problems and your ability to look at things in different ways. Then after the interview, they had a couple other workers onsite take me out to a nice restaurant for a nice low key dinner to help answer any questions I had about the actual work environment. And after six months of being on the job, I can honestly say that everyone was 100% honest about every single question that I asked. It was in no way sugarcoated or spoken or unjustly down spoken. They just told it like it was. Very respectable

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

You have 9 beans. 8 of a particular weight, 1 of a lighter weight, but all of the same volume, shape, etc. Basically you can't tell them apart. You also have a scale, like a mechanical balance scale where you put some beans on one side and some on the other and it tips to whichever side is heavier. In how many measurements can you always be 100% sure which bean is the smaller one. hint: the answer isn't 1 or 3
      1 Answer
      5
      The process took 4 weeks.

      Interview

Recruiters and interviewers were very easy to talk to. Video interview followed by a technical interview about a month later. The technical covered OOP, some SQL, and a lot of problem-solving brain teaser type of questions. Overall, a solid interview process.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at Fast Enterprises

      Interview

I met them at the career fair for my school, they liked my resume and asked me to come in for a on campus interview the next day. The on campus interview was one hour long consisting of 30 minutes where I was given a sheet of 35 brain teasers and told to finish the test (then the recruiter left). There was 1 code implementation question. I almost left at this point. The second half was watching the interviewer score the brain teasers 'test' and talking about the position. Through this discussion it was heavily implied that I would not get paid even close to my previous internship's hourly rate and I was told I would have to accept the offer (if given) without knowing where I would be doing the internship.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Write the implementation for a prime factorization algorithm. What ways could you make this algorithm more efficient?

      Question 2

Solve these anagrams, what 4 letter word could come before all 5 of the words below, etc.
