The interview process is pretty quick, but this company and its engineers+ middle managers are as unprofessional and cocky as they come. They have an attitude of a top engineer (or manager) working at one of the FAANG companies, but don't have the substance to back it up.
The onsite was as easy as they come, but because I am a person of color (with an accent), most of the engineers and managers seemed reluctant to hire me from the get go. I know the solutions I provided to interview questions were above the bar, and would have got me hired anywhere else. With 12 years in the valley, I can tell when I am having a bad interview vs a good interview.
Fitbit interview panel stopped my interviews after 2 (out of 4) rounds, and the HR\Recruiter lied on my face saying that there is an urgent meeting and they'll have to cancel the interviews. What a bunch of BS....when I was being walked out, it didn't seem like there was any such urgent meeting. Clearly they were not happy with either (1) My color, (2) My accent), (3) My age (early 30s).
I never heard back from HR after they walked me out.
3 weeks after this interview, I got a job offer each from 2 of the FAANG companies. I gladly took the offer from F of the FAANG companies as an Android Engineer, and am so thankful that Fitbit didn't want to hire me. They deserve the mediocre engineers and managers, and it shows in their stock performance.
If I am good at cracking 2 out of 2 FAANG interviews, I certainly know I am good for Fitbit, but they didn't think so - L.O.S.E.R.S
