I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Formation Bio in Feb 2026
Interview
This company was formally known as TRIALSPARK but they started calling themselves formation bio. I interviewed with them in the past and had a terrible experience. I was unaware of this rebranding till later on. I had two interviews with this Formation Bio team and the conversations were subpar. I'm not surprised. They were getting ready for their offsite event so they left me hanging for quite awhile. They asked questions about my sourcing strategy and wanted specific companies and names of people. Don't bother interviewing here b/c they were probably looking for free labor. It seems like their last product was failing and the company was a mess so they went through a rebranding.
The recruiter didn't follow up or give me an update regarding the status of my application.

I applied online. I interviewed at Formation Bio (New York, NY) in Feb 2021
Interview
Had a phone call with the head of talent, then a video call with a talent manager, then 3 separate interviews with the head of talent, head of people, and a director of engineering. I enjoyed my conversations with each member of the team. After the last interview I had, they called me and said they would not be moving forward with my candidacy. They also gave me feedback as to why. This is something I've yet to come across and appreciated.

Question 1
Have you seen a surge in diversity recruitment in the past year? How do you recruit for diverse candidates?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Formation Bio (New York, NY) in Nov 2020
Interview
An hour phone interview.
It was a pleasant experience but unfortunately during the critical thinking portion of the interview, their was a baby crying in the background of the interviewers room.
I get it, it’s Covid and being a parent as well as wfh is tough. I just feel like I was not able to answer the question properly which just sucks for me, but I guess that’s why they call it critical thinking.
