This happened in Toronto. I got a call on a Tuesday evening from a 3rd party recruiter that they urgently need a ServiceNow Administrator. He said the current ServiceNow Administrator whose work authorization is nearing its expiry has claimed that she can get renewed work authorization through her husband and that they have given her until Friday to get it. I quickly tailor my resume and send it. The 3rd party recruiter tells me that the current administrator's work authorization is nearing its expiry and they need someone to replace here ASAP. Interview is scheduled on Wednesday afternoon. The Director and the ServiceNow Administrator (another person) interview me for an hour. Its a good discussion. At the end, the director says "... all things look good, you are ready to join next week. We will keep you posted if the position goes on hold". The second he said the word "hold", my alarm bells rang off. I spoke with the 3rd party recruiter later and he said the director likes you since he does not want to interview anyone else and we need to wait until Friday. On Friday, when I take a follow up, the 3rd party recruiter says they are giving her time until Monday. That sets off further alarm bells. If they really want her so badly, why even interview other people and keep them hanging? On Monday, after following up, I get the dreaded email from the 3rd party recruiter saying she as able to furnish the needed paper and this position is closed.
