In person at a Starbucks. We reviewed much of what was listed on my resume, and I was asked repeatedly why I applied to this job when I was overqualified. I guess being unemployed 12+ months after military separation wasn’t enough. So although I was more than capable of doing the job, I was told, on the spot - that I was overqualified (flattering, I guess?) and they wouldn’t hire me because I would eventually leave for another job in the future. Orrrr they could’ve just hired & promoted me internally? Yep, all good though. Just thought it was a weird model. If you see the resume and know I’m “overqualified” why waste either of our time? Didn’t even buy me a coffee, lol. I can laugh about it now but it wasn’t a good time back then.
