I applied online. I interviewed at GEICO (Tracy, CA) in Jul 2017
Interview
The hiring process is ridiculously long and stressful. You start off with an online assessment, then two phone interviews about a week later. The phone interviewers are like robots, they are obviously reading off a script.
After you pass the phone interviews you will be scheduled for the role play interview. My interview took place at a hotel about 45 minutes away from where the job was to be. At this "interview" I was placed in a hotel room and placed at a desk. I was told what would happen and given 5 minutes to get organized. You will listen, and read along, to a 25 minute audio recording giving you your instructions and what to do. After the recording finishes you are given 5 minutes to get organized and then the phone will ring. You will be doing quotes for repairs from customers or from repair shops, it can get very overwhelming. This is what you are being tested on. Just bare down and get through it and you will be in good shape.
After you get done with the role play you are taken out and told to wait. If they come up to you and ask you to step outside or tell you that they will contact you, you did not get the job. A manager will come out and take you to another room where he will tell you that you passed and offer you a contingent job offer. You will then spend the next hour filling out forms for your background and credit check. After about a week you will be either told you need to report for training or you will get something in the mail saying you did not pass the background and or credit check. This will come from GIS not from Geico.
If you have anything on your credit that is bad YOU WILL NOT BE HIRED!! It is total crap that you are denied a job because of something that is on your credit. I went through a divorce and it ruined my credit, they do not care! Somebody's credit score does not make them a horrible employee or mean that they have no work ethic.
Complete waste of two months doing nothing but waiting.

The interview process was pretty easy. They asked me about my experience on phones and customer service. The HR rep was really nice. Explained the process well. Got an offer right away.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO (Texas City, TX) in Dec 2024
Interview
I got an email from a recruiter after passing the assessment . That interview was just a complete run down of the job. Then had an interview with the actual manager she just asked questions about your history and some job related scenario questions. She didn’t give any hints you have to think on your feet. They will send you a video it’s 5 mins watch it and try to notice small things. Study what an adjuster does it will help answer scenario questions.

Question 1
If I was applying for others jobs- if I had any objections traveling for training- she started reading from a script about Geico and the job description- didn’t make eye contact. She was very unfriendly-serious looking like if she was mad about something. didnt ask me anything about me or my experience. All the questions were yes or no answers.
