I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gigster (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Seems like a super sketchy company.
The interview process from start to finish was unprofessional and poorly coordinated. The take home was riddled with typos, as were the emails from the office manager who scheduled my onsite.
The onsite had one technical session and three personality fit sessions. The technical session went well and each soft skills session got weirder and weirder. The last session was with with one of the co-founders of the company. He seemed bored by our interview and played with his phone while asking me questions. This was strange because I was a strong candidate and had come in through a referral.
I was relieved that I didn't get an offer. Not everyone who works there is terrible, but the leadership is questionable.
Thank you for providing us with this feedback. It is important to us to create the best possible experience for our candidates and we have stopped using take home practicals for engineering roles. We apologize for the use of a cell phone during your interview, we will follow up internally to make sure this doesn't happen again. If you'd like to discuss your feedback further, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team directly.
