I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at H&R Block in Dec 2009
Interview
I applied online on H&R Block website. I received a call for an interview and it sounded like they wanted to move fast. The interviewer asked me a few questions and said she would talk it over with the Manager. They wanted someone hired so they could go to training that same night. She called back and offered me a lower wage than I wanted. I told her that if she increased it by a $1 then I would accept it. She said she would call back if that figure didn't work, and to attend training. She didn't call back so I went to training and verified the new wage.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at H&R Block (Akron, OH) in Dec 2017
Interview
The hiring and interviewing process was extremely laid back. The laid back nature of the whole thing, at least for me, helped ease a lot of anxiety I probably would have had otherwise. The interview felt more like a conversation than an interview. It didn't feel like I was being drilled with questions and then judged upon my answers. This helped me to actually be able to portray myself the way I wanted to.

Brief 1:1 interview that primarily focused on work experience and skills as well as discussing employee availability. Easy, friendly, comfortable interview that took place in a cubicle at the office I now work at. I was offered and accepted the position at the end of the interview.
