      New Grad RN Residency Interview

      5 Mar 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Houston, TX
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HCA Healthcare (Houston, TX) in Jan 2024

      Interview

Very positive and upbeat questions. The recruiter was very kind and helpful and the interview was overall very relaxed and had a natural flow. Great experience and enjoyed my time learning about the nurse residency program

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at HCA Healthcare in May 2025

      Interview

This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever experienced while applying to jobs. I applied online for multiple new grad RN positions in HCA's East Florida Division, and I was contacted by a recruiter via text message to set up a time for a phone interview. There was nothing to indicate which hospital I was going to be interviewing for. The text only said HCA. Then after waiting over a week for the earliest interview time available, the recruiter did not call at the scheduled time, or ever. This was after receiving multiple reminders, including up to an hour before the scheduled interview. I immediately followed up with her via email to ask if she would like to reschedule, or if I was no longer under consideration. She couldn't even be bothered to email me back. They could have at least been courteous enough to send a cancellation instead of a reminder so I didn't waste an afternoon.

      Application

      I interviewed at HCA Healthcare

      Interview

I had a phone interview with a recruiter, then an in-person interview with the department's director, 2 "peer" interviews (other RNs on the floor to ask questions to about the floor itself) then 2 hours of shadowing an RN on the floor. Then I met with the ACNO

If I wanted day shift or night shift
