First met with the hiring manager and had a great discussion, and she quickly scheduled me for a panel interview that took place over a week later. The conversation was friendly, good questions were asked, and when I sent my thank you emails, the hiring manager responded with - I look forward to connecting with you next week - only to send me a rejection. That was kind of odd. The position was hybrid in what they considered their Boston location, only to find out that their office is not in Boston, but Quincy. If I would have known that ahead of time (the JD stated Boston as did the hiring manager in our discussions), I wouldn't have applied. I'm as far north of Boston as Quincy is south, so they aren't super transparent with details. Nice people, but I'm not upset I didn't get the offer.
