I met with Bonnie and another senior level editor. I knew about the reputation of HL prior to going in but wanted to be open regardless. I was told that all staff writers are obligated to work one weekend a month in the office. The job I was currently working at at the time had some weekend work once in a while and we were compensated with the following Monday off, so I asked if there was anything similar in their office. They said no, meaning every single month, you would essentially work for 14 days straight. Right then, I knew that everything I heard about this place was true and I literally started purposely bombing the interview. I never followed up or got a call.
