I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hughes Network Systems (Gaithersburg, MD) in Sept 2015
Interview
Submitted my resume through their website's career page. Was contacted by a recruiter shortly after wondering my availability for a phone interview. The interviewer on the phone was nice and the interview lasted about 15 minutes. Questions about my project experiences and technical knowledge, but nothing too in-depth. Found another internship shortly after, so I did not end up moving forward. This was summer 2015.
Easy common OOP questions. Object-oriented programming (OOP) is a computer programming model that organizes software design around data, or objects, rather than functions and logic. Just study that and you will be good.

Interview
I met with a recruiter at a college career fair and gave them my resume. They emailed me to set up a phone interview with a manager, and I had about a 30-minute interview with the person who would eventually be my supervisor. He was pretty friendly, and the questions weren't too bad. A mix of questions about my experience and Java technical questions, but being that it was a phone interview, it wasn't really coding questions.
