      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Immersive (Bristol, England) in Aug 2017

      Interview

Easy and low-stress chat with James! Asked me to visit the offices soon after to meet the team. There were no issues with communication or travel. Very accommodating.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Immersive in Nov 2020

      Interview

Applied online through submitting a covering letter and CV. I then had a telephone interview with a really nice lady which lasted about 30 minutes. A while after this, I had an interview with the hiring manager and someone else from HR. First part of the interview went well, although repeated questions that were asked on the telephone interview so used some of the same examples. Then, without any warning or task involved they asked me to come up on the spot with a concept, after that they wanted to know the ins and outs of a concept I just imagined 2 minutes ago in my head! I felt very on the spot and unprepared for this. What would of been better is if I had been emailed a task prior to pitch an idea for content, instead of asking me without any prior warning. Then, I kept getting asked 'do you know about this software?' 'do you know about this ...' just over and over again. Not competency based at all! The interview ended quite abruptly without me being able to demonstrate my skill set and knowledge about the position I had applied for. I felt very disappointed. They then didn't get back to me for AGES. Oh and they didn't even have the courtesy to give me a phone call. Nope, I just had an automatic general email which basically just said they chose people who were more suitable for the role. They didn't offer any feedback or personalise my experience in any way. All in all, I am now so disappointed about this company. I really thought they were a friendly and fun company as that is what they pride themselves on, but no, all I got was repeated questions and trivia based. They did not personalise my experience in any way or make me feel respected or heard. I also got the impression that they are just mass interviewing people at the moment. They have no regard for who you are, how much you've prepared. All they care about is interviewing as many people as possible so it will probably look good on their HR records. I was told that they have a lot of people to interview which is really odd considering it was such a niche role. Why don't you narrow down applications after the first phone call? Instead of interviewing everyone who applies for you to just let down and disregard like rubbish.
