Completed an online application, received an invitation to an interview the day after. It was a walk-in, group interview, sat with 3 other applicants. Typical STAR questions, "Tell me about a time when..." questions. The interviewer threw the question in the air to see who would answer it first.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you were shown or you provided excellent customer service.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at In-N-Out Burger (Tustin, CA) in Sept 2008
Interview
My hiring process was some what unique. The managers made me wait in front of the restaurant for a good 45 minutes when I arrived for my 4:30 p.m interview. (I later found out that they purposely make you wait a long time to meet a manager as a test of your patient level) I wore my best suit which included a tie, slacks, and a nice non-wrinkling long sleeve shirt. A former employee told me that I should always dress to impress for any job even if it is for a fast food career because that will help you stand out among the others who take these kind of jobs for granted. I went through the usual two man interview process. I gave them a huge smile and did a lot of small talks with some jokes here and there to lighten up their mood a bit. Make sure you smile! This is one of the first signs of a perfect candidate that the managers look for to indicate them that you are a likable person. Next, came the brutal 1 hour questionnaires that was aimed at me. Be prepare to answer a lot of questions regarding your personal life such as previous work, school, family, and future goals. I nailed every question and got hired on the spot. *tip: make them laugh and they will love you.

Interview
I used a friend who was a current employee as a reference in my online application and received a call a couple days later to interview. I was interviewed by a higher level associate and came back two days later to be hired by the store manager.

Question 1
All questions were pretty simple. They just want to know what kind of person you are and, most notably, if you are high energy and friendly.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at In-N-Out Burger (Tustin, CA) in Sept 2009
Interview
The interview process was simple and was casual. They sat me outside and asked me a few questions about school and my hobbies. The questions consisted of me telling a story of how I displayed great leadership and teamwork. Overall, it was an easy interview.
